Established in 1876 by Alex Ludwig, a well regarded musician. The first store was located near the historic Eads Bridge which spanned the Mississippi River.

In 1970, Ludwig Music House purchased all the shares the Aeolian Company of Missouri, and the company became known as Ludwig Aeolian.

In 1989, Ludwig Aeolian Pianos moved to its present Midwest location. The building has become a Landmark in the Midwest.
