"Upright Grand" and "Cabinet Grand" were terms used referring to very tall upright pianos, usually 52" or more in height. These pianos often had string lengths, tone and technical capabilities equal to, and indeed sometimes better than, petite baby grands, and were named as such by manufacturers for marketing purposes. But keep in mind: they technically are not grand piano in any way.

The Professional Studio is the tallest vertical piano, with a soundboard and string length comparable to that of a medium grand. It is second only to the grand pianos in tone quality.   The classic elegance of the traditional cabinetry found in ebony or the natural wood finishes makes this the finest choice available in a vertical piano today.

The soundboard and string lengths of the Studio piano produce a resonant tone and volume comparable to a small grand. A very durable instrument, this model is popular with many piano teachers, and found in numerous academic and religious institutions. This size is now the most popular choice for home use as well. The timeless cabinetry makes this instrument the best investment of the vertical pianos.

Console pianos are slightly shorter than the Studio piano. They typically offer a larger selection of art cases and wood finishes than Studio pianos. 

While all vertical pianos are just under 5' wide, the Spinet is the smallest of the vertical pianos due to its height. Originally designed to fit under a window sill, it adds charm to any room.
